PASSION

Do YOU have it? One definition of passion: an endless amount of energy to persue your goal! Love it!

That was the topic of the speaker last night at our FIRST OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL Baseball Parent's Meeting!! One of the guest speakers is the Bullpen Coach for the Florida Marlins. He was very interesting and inspiring. He definately had all the boy's attention, including Tuck!
I am very excited to get started on this new journey Brandan has worked so hard for. They start try outs today and last for a week or two. He will be scrimmaging tomorrow as part of the tryouts, so in between basketball, we will be baseballin'! Thank goodness for the sunshine tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Friday, I know I am!

Proud Day

Tucker received the most awesome awards yesterday! The biggest was for Languarge Arts/Reading. He is reading at a level 25!! This isn't even a first grade level. He reads chapter books now! AMAZING! He reads to me every night for about 15 minutes and it is unbelievable the words he is able to figure out. He has a super teacher, Mrs. Thompson. What a smart guy!
Keyto had Student Council yesterday and had to take the roll call. He was very talkative when I picked him up from school, good things are happening! He has been quite the social butterfly lately. Two birthday parties in the last couple of weeks and another one this Sunday. All that along with successful soccer/basketball games makes a very happy Keyto.
We have a parent baseball meeting this Thurs. night. I am very excited to get into High School Baseball. I'm looking foward to meeting and hanging out with the Moms. He will be scrimmaging all day Saturday, luckily the temps are supposed to go back into the 60's by then.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
K

Basketball

Finally, some basketball pictures (sorry they are so dark, you just can't get a good pic in those gyms)! Yesterday was full of games. Tuck and Keyto both won their basketball games. Keyto won his soccer game AND scored two more goals! The McMillion boys were on fire!
Also, more big news. Friday was report card day and all of them had EXCELLENT grades. Keyto had all 90's with his lowest grade being a 95, Brando had all A's and B's, Tuck was all good comments and accomplishments. I have an award ceremony to attend in the morning for Tuck!
Hope you are having a nice and peaceful Sunday. It is cool here, but the sun is shining bright!

K

Summertime??

Did I just wake up from a long winter's nap? Is it summer? Must be...the temps here are right at 80 degrees? It sure is nice!

I was dreaming of green grass, pink roses, sundresses and flip flops!

Hope you are having a good day!

Wallace

Otherwise known as Wally, or our chokit yab (as Tuck called him a few years ago). Now Wally used to live in Lubbock in a really cool doghouse my dad built. This was a plain on the inside, not tricked out like my Dad's dog's house. Not tricked out...because Wallace would chew up the carpet lined walls, drag out the blankets into the frigid wind chill, and we didn't trust him with a heat lamp since there was no telling what he might do to it. The only time he was allowed in the house (mudroom actually) was with temps in the 30s or there was snow and ice on the ground.

BUT...here in Dallas (where it is way warmer in the winter) he has become quite spoiled! He is very scared of the North Texas thunderstorms, so instead of seeking the dry and warm shelter of our shed (sealed and has blankets) he runs from door to window to window in the rain, wind, sleet, and oh lets say 40-60 DEGREE weather (when there is no rain or snow) wanting in to sleep in this teeny tiny cage (click on pic to see him closer)! He uses the side for his pillow. I told my oldest son the other day he needed some bumper pads like in a baby crib!

He is just spoiled rotten. When I go in the kitchen in the morning to start my coffee, he raises one eyebrow and opens one eye to look at me. To get him out to pee, I have to crawl halfway into the cage to grab his collar and pull him out! Crazy Dog! Gotta love 'em though.

Have a great Thursday! It's my last day at work for the week. My best friend is coming in from home and we are spending Friday and Saturday doing girl stuff! I am soooo looking foward to it.

K

A New Year

One of my 2009 goals is to step out of my comfort zone and take more classes online and in person, comment more on blogs, and do a few online swaps! Well, that seems like more than one goal, but to me they are all tied in together to participate in more creative and social ventures. Maybe that should be the actual goal...

So as soon as our local sb store has a class I am interested in I am going to sign up! Last year I did two of Teresa McFayden's EZines and loved them and actually created many of the projects.

This year I have signed up for ArtsyMama's A Year of Color. So far, it is fabulous! There are project, great link, decorating, party ideas...it is endless inspiration. I believe I am also going to sign up the first swap associated with this class!

Lisa Pace is also doing a Cupid's Workshop. Her work is beautiful. I am excited to learn some new techniques from her.

And finally, I am once again taking Teresa McFayden's BellaEzine. She is so talented. I wish I had half her stash of vintage goodies. She has such a cute way of wording her posts.
If you sign up for any of these let me know so I can keep a look out for you!
Have a creative and blissful day!

Frustrating

Just to vent a minute (since I rarely do it) so I don't explode. You know how it is...something you can't get out of your head, but don't like confrontation.

It is so frustrating to find out AFTER the fact that Someone is mad at You for something You agreed to do with a Third Party (innocent bystander) because Third Party was excited about doing it, but that Someone had also done in the past, so therefore you figured it was acceptable!

Also, to find out that You were supposed to have done something, which You knew nothing about (was discussed among two Other People unbeknownst to You) and yet, You are the bad guy. Frustrating when You have no details as to what the plan is, yet You are supposed to plan for it and be prepared I guess for whatever was decided on without including You (sorry for run-ons, spelling, etc.).

Thanks a bunch, I feel better for getting it out of my system...carry on and have a gret day.
Hugs,
K
