My Baseball Favorites from 2012

(Brandan's signing with Frank Philips Jr. College)

Surprise!!
Yep, here I am, it's the beginning of 2013 and of course I am all gung ho to post in my blog!
We'll see how long it lasts!
I want to post some of my favorite photos from 2012, and since baseball is numero uno priority, I thought I would showcase the baseball pics in a post of their own!

Brandan's last time to play at Ranger stadium.

Keyton is back in the game as a HAWK!
Loved watching this boy pick right back up where he left off 5 years ago!

Here's Tuck getting hit by a pitch and taking it like the big boys!!
Never a tear, weeell, until his dad hit him in the face with a grounder at practice one fine day!

Last year of high school baseball before moving onto bigger, better and more challenging.

All three of these boys can pitch!

And lookee here!  My Keyton put on the catcher's gear and did an amazing job!

Not only does he catch, he also pitches, plays 1st, 2nd and out field!

Brandan played his last season with the Arlington A's summer of '12
His Premier World Championship was in Springfield Missouri.
I have to say that I love the state of Missouri!
The people are so friendly and it really is pretty there.

Springfield's Minor League Field was the site of Opening Ceremonies.

Keyton played in his first World Series in FlowerMound, Texas.
He was MVP for his team for the entire tournament.
I missed alot of the games due to leaving for Missouri, but sure was proud of him!

Tuck attended his first Red Oak Hawk Baseball Camp.
(Just between you and me, it sure ain't no MHS Plainsman Camp like we all know and love :)

The temperature was probabaly 102!  Tucker was sweatin' like crazy!

Camp is hard work!

Buntin' like the best of 'em!

And lastly, one at one of my top 5 favorite fields (out of 100 or more).
This is the Optomist Field in downtown Waxahachie, Texas.
Trees surround the fields and to top it all off...a train runs through regularly.
Love it!!

Hugs to you all and I hope you enjoy the pics.
I'll be back to post more of 2012 and hopefully continue the fun!

My Banquet Hopper

I've been calling Brandan my Banquet Hopper, you know like a bar hopper, only he has made the banquet rounds with his very good friend Samantha.
This is the first banquet...her Softball Banquet.
He then asked her to his Baseball Banquet.
Then she asked him to her Golf Banquet (she is quite the athlete).
Don't they look great!?! And look how well they match!
Baseball pics to follow :)

Baseball in SA

We went to San Antonio for a baseball tournament and a mini vacation. It was just the boys and I, but we had a very nice time. We swam at the hotel, got lost downtown with some other players and parents which led to our first TAXI ride ever! We ate on the River Walk, toured the Alamo, and checked out The Guiness Book of World Records museum.

It was unanimous that while San Antonio has great sites and activities we wouldn't want to live there and didn't want to go back anytime soon (there was a slight chance we might have gone back for more baseball). Brando was slightly nervous the 2nd night we ventured downtown on our own and it was about 9:00 and we were trying to find our bus to take us back to the hotel. Keyto and Tuck were oblivious to any of the shady characters walking the streets, but B, well, he was beggin to ride in another TAXI to get us off the street corner. So, I gave in and the taxi ended up only costing 2.00 more than the bus! It was an experience! But, I was so proud of all of us for adventuring out and not being scared and sitting in the hotel room.

At Bat

Trying to steal First Base. Notice NICE scoreboard in background. Let me tell you....these fields were SWEET! Didn't get a picture of the stands, but it was like being at a Ranger game.

Brandan running home
B on 1st, looking to steal (of course)

B at Bat. Yes, he is #3 for High School ball. They didn't pick their numbers. I kinda like the single digit.

Waiting to bat
On Deck waiting to bat. Yes, I got all the pictures out of order, so start here and go up!
With all the rain this week, I don't know if we'll be playing baseball or soccer tomorrow. Just depends on the fields.
Have a great weekend. Hope the sun is shining where you are:)

K

A new season

Waiting for a throw in from the side

Spring Soccer has begun! We are UNDEFEATED! Whoo Hoo! Our record is 1-0! Wink!! This is big since the team didn't win a game last fall. They are pumped, let me tell you!
Keyto also played on Saturday and won 6-5! I don't have pictures since I wasn't at that game. I will take some this weekend.
Tonight we have off, yep, no sports or school functions! Can ya believe it??
I hope you have the evening off also to spend with your family and chill.
Hugs,
K

Outta Sorts

It was an unusual weekend. The first of Spring Break (Yay)! We played lots of sports and it definately was NOT our weekend to win Championships. Although to get as far as all the teams did is pretty cool. Tuck's basketball season ended Friday night when they lost in the semi-finals. He was pretty disappointed. Then Keyton's indoor soccer season ended Saturday morning with a game for first place. Both teams were awesome and played their hearts out. The scoring went back and forth the whole game with the final being 5-6. Very proud of those kids though. Later that day Keyton's team won a basketball game to put them in the Season Finale Championship game. They had not lost one game all season! It was rough. They ended up losing to the one team they wanted to beat and did beat last year. Hard losing to a team that one of your friends went to play for (was on our team) and several other school friends.

The games this weekend were so intense that by the end of Keyton's last game I had a horrible pain in my neck from holding my shoulders tensed up. It didn't help that the parents of the team we played in Keyton's championship have the worst reputation as being the WORST sports. Very rude and disrespecful. Anyway...feeling better today thank goodness. I could hardly turn my neck Saturday night!
Crazy Cat! This is DUDLEY our 16 (almost 17) year old cat! He loves to snuggle with anyone who will sit still long enough. I'm not sure what is up with this sleeping position, but he certainly was enjoying it!
Have a good week!
Hugs,
K
P.S. Can't believe I forgot to mention....I saw the first of the Bluebonnets yesterday on our way to Arlington! Whoo Hoo! So excited for spring.

Sports Update

This last weekend we played a total of 10 Games!! Here's a quick run down on the who, where, when and most importantly...WHY!!
9:30 Indoor Soccer Mansflied Keyton Won
10:30 Basketball RO Tucker Won
11:00 Basketball RO Keyton Won
12:00 Baseball RO Brando Won
2:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas* Keyto Lost Asked to play in 6 on 6 tourn. great practice!
4:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas Keyto Tie
5:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas Keyton Won
7:00 Birthday Party RO Keyton Had a blast! Quite the little social-lite.
Sunday
1:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas Keyton Won
3:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas Keyton Won
5:00 Outdoor Soccer Dallas Keyton Championship Game!! Lost to team we lost to first on Saturday, but was asked to come back to play in another tournament for Cinco De Mayo!
By 6:00 on Sunday I am pooped! I felt like I didn't even get a weekend, but you know what?? It was all worth it! Keyton told me on Saturday morning it was the Best Saturday! He loves to go and go and go... All in all, a very successful weekend!
Oh, and yes, those first couple of pictures are of Keyton playing GOALIE!! He did great. So proud of that DUDE!
Tuesday Brandan traveled to Irving to play the Junior Varsity in baseball. His first at bat went to right field, he then proceeded to steal 2nd, 3rd, and home!! He pitched and had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. the other pitchers and players did awesome. I wasn't there, so I don't know all their names. Actually, even if I was there, I am still trying to figure out who they all are!
They beat the other team 9-1. The JV of that school consisted mainly of Sophomores and Juniors with only a couple of Freshmen. I think Red Oak has some great talent on our Freshman team. Unfortunately our JV team was beat by the same team. I am going to think positive for our JV team that they will succeed in all their games. I know it must have been hard to have the Freshman team win against a team that they lost too.
Soooo...that's your weekend update! Have a great Wednesday. I have more pics to come of our weekend at the field.
Hugs,
K

PASSION

Do YOU have it? One definition of passion: an endless amount of energy to persue your goal! Love it!

That was the topic of the speaker last night at our FIRST OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL Baseball Parent's Meeting!! One of the guest speakers is the Bullpen Coach for the Florida Marlins. He was very interesting and inspiring. He definately had all the boy's attention, including Tuck!
I am very excited to get started on this new journey Brandan has worked so hard for. They start try outs today and last for a week or two. He will be scrimmaging tomorrow as part of the tryouts, so in between basketball, we will be baseballin'! Thank goodness for the sunshine tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Friday, I know I am!

K

Basketball

Finally, some basketball pictures (sorry they are so dark, you just can't get a good pic in those gyms)! Yesterday was full of games. Tuck and Keyto both won their basketball games. Keyto won his soccer game AND scored two more goals! The McMillion boys were on fire!
Also, more big news. Friday was report card day and all of them had EXCELLENT grades. Keyto had all 90's with his lowest grade being a 95, Brando had all A's and B's, Tuck was all good comments and accomplishments. I have an award ceremony to attend in the morning for Tuck!
Hope you are having a nice and peaceful Sunday. It is cool here, but the sun is shining bright!
Hugs,
K
