Soccer Camp II

See, even the big kids love their popsicle at the end of camp!

Playing a little scrimmage.
Can you believe how tall he is getting?
Got a new haircut too...and contacts!
He is growing up way too fast.

The entry way the morning of camp...
Skill training and getting warmed up.

It will be a semi quiet week around here.
Keyto and Tuck are off to Nana and Papa's for the week.
They have lots of fun stuff planned like Schitterbahn, swimming and movies!
Brando leaves on Thursday for a tournament in Arkansas!
I will be working at The Crafty Scrapper and also teaching a Pre-Teen class!
Have a super week!

Soccer Camp I

Last week was RO Soccer Camp for Tucker and Keyto.
Everyday at the end they got a popsicle.
The last day they received a popsicle, certificate and T-SHIRT!
Waiting in the popsicle line which obviously makes camp worth while!

Looking serious while getting some gatorade!

Showing off those camp skills...

Stay tuned for Keyto!

Last soccer game this season

Both boys played the last game of the season a week ago this last Saturday.

I can't believe I got such a great shot of Keyto in action!

They tied the other team 2-2.

They were missing 7 players (all fowards) and their main coach.

Keyto got to play foward and had a couple of shots on the goal.

Way to go!

Guess who was the sub Coach!

Spring in RO, Part I

Last night Keyton had a soccer game here.
It was a beautiful day for outdoor sports.
80 degrees and the sun was shining. There was a 30% chance of rain.
It clouded up off and on all day like it would rain, but in between the sun came out.
The team was playing another home town team so the game got pretty rough.
It always does with this team. Some of the boys are who Keyto played with when
we originally moved up here and a lot of them are class mates.
I love how boys can be so competitive on the field, but the minute they walk off all is
forgotten and they are buddies again.
Wish I could say the same for some of those crazy parents!
We could see the clouds getting closer and closer. It was getting darker and darker.
Cool thing about Spring in RO is that when weather guy says it's gonna rain, no matter the percentage, it usually does at some point in the day. Usually rain here in the spring isn't all day, but short showers on a regular basis. It has been dry for a couple of weeks now, so we seriously needed the rain to liven up the bluebonnets and help out the next round of wildflowers.
I told my friend, "when I feel a steady rain drops I'm heading to the car, which is seriously 1/2 a mile away, and it is all mud and rocks down the hill to get to the car.
I text Brent who is with Tucker at soccer further South and tell him "it's gonna rain".
He says "no it's not" (he was joking).
Well, there never was a steady stream of rain DROPs, it dropped maybe TWO drops and BAM full force rain coming down. So I grab Keyto's bag, my purse and chair and take off.
I am wearing flip flops and finally had to run barefoot because my feet were sliding around.
It wasn't a pretty sight.
But those clouds sure were!

The rain lasted just until Keyto got to the car and then stopped and that was that!
Unfortunately we lost 2-1. We probably could have at least tied if it hadn't started raining.

Just in: Brando and team just won 7-3. They were tied 3-3 and Brando got up to bat in 7th inning with 2 on base and 2 outs. He hit, ran to 1st and drove a run in. We scored 4 runs in that inning with the two outs. Since we were visitors they still had to bat and we held them and WON!
The team is 8-2 in district play I believe.

Have a super weekend.

Soccer Party & Faux Hawk

This is where Tucker's Soccer Party was held in DECEMBER! Isn't it awesome??
It is the recreational center in the town just north of us. Indoor water slide, lap pool, and little kid's play area.

Tucker and Coach Mike with trophy

Brent (obviously still a kid himself), Tucker and Keyton about to go down the slide.
Yes, I did the slide too, and loved it. It is a blast.

playin' and splashin'

Going down again.
Tucker and a friend's little brother wore Brent out taking them down over and over.

The last time Tuck got his hair cut, Denise (also our neighbor, friend, hairdresser, and wife of Keyto's soccer coach) put his hair up in a FauxHawk. Tucker wore it that way for about 2 weeks even in our family picture that was in our Christmas card. It took some time to fix each morning so luckily we haven't had to do it in awhile.

A new season

Waiting for a throw in from the side

Spring Soccer has begun! We are UNDEFEATED! Whoo Hoo! Our record is 1-0! Wink!! This is big since the team didn't win a game last fall. They are pumped, let me tell you!
Keyto also played on Saturday and won 6-5! I don't have pictures since I wasn't at that game. I will take some this weekend.
Tonight we have off, yep, no sports or school functions! Can ya believe it??
I hope you have the evening off also to spend with your family and chill.
Hugs,
K
